Solitary Hunter

I was surprised to see this very distinctive coloured beautiful bird come flying and perch on a tree right in front of me as if it wanted to pose for a photograph. I never had the opportunity to photograph a green heron before. I later learned that green herons are one of the rare ‘tools using’ birds that drop smaller insects on the water to lure fish. So, it wasn’t me that the bird was attracted to, but the spider web on the branch it landed on.
